Apricot Trees
(wow you guys i finally found a working title for that game wow wow)
so, i recently started working more or less fulltime on a project of mine i'd been keeping in mind for a while.
i had gotten really, REALLY into Faith and Fallen Aces and thought, hey, John and Mike's personalities could fit just like puzzle pieces!
and then things escalated and a friend and i started entertaining the thought of imagining John as an incubus and Mike as a werewolf, and they'd first meet and somehow that became the project i wanted to work the most on recently.
so now i'm mostly working on that in parallel to other things.
media shelf for this project
in order to be clean and consistent and to create something of quality, i've decided to do some research while working on this project, so that i could be better
aware of what i was getting myself into, not so much from a game design perspective but moreso from a narrative perspective.
this story is first an foremost a queer allegory for hypersexuality and coming out, both as gay and as trans, as well as a story that talks about traumas in a way i try to make as empathetic as possible.
(ewew another
edgy story about trauma ewew) i want to try to say something that people can relate to without being broad either, but to do that i need/want to do research
as to better understand the topics i want to write about.
here is a list of what i have watched/read/played so far for that:
- On ne nait pas mec, by Daisy Letourneur (book) (a feminist critique of masculinity by a trans woman)
- Mojika: Ugly Truth Rears Its head, from Nitro Plus (game) (do not recommed this one, was just to get a vibe for what mainstream eroges feel/read/look like)
